This painting is based on the story of three sisters who fundraise for people with hearing loss by selling stuffed lemons sewn by the oldest sibling Carly. The two youngest have hearing loss and wear hearing aids. They use the money they raise to help purchase hearing aids for people who can't afford them. Original was an acrylic painting with Cold Porcelain on wood.
These three little girls conquered my heart. Their energy, bonding and commitment to help others is so much fun to watch. Their mom, Marisa Waters tells their story:
“In 2017 our youngest was born with hearing loss. She shined a light on our 5 year old and we quickly realized that she also has hearing loss. They have not stopped educating and showing off their awesome ears. After learning about how expensive hearing aids are my oldest daughter started a foundation and has been able to supply hearing aids to many children who couldn’t afford them.”
Marisa, thank you for letting me portray the beautiful work your children do. They are an inspiration to many!
