November Calendar Scene

November 9th is Microtia Awareness Day!

I’ve been advocating for hearing loss through my art for a few years now. It’s been such an amazing journey that led me to some incredible human beings. This is a project that comes from my heart. I’m very devoted to it and I’d love to see you become a part of this path with me. I created this specific scene to celebrate the month of November and the date related to hearing loss happening during this month.

This little doll puppet was created from scratch. She has one long ear and one short one. She’s surrounded by Microtia Elf butterflies and feeling really joyful! I hope this brightens your day as much as it brightened my days while I was creating it.

Microtia is a condition when a child is born with the external part of the ear underdeveloped. The word Microtia comes from the latin “micro,” meaning “little” and “otia,” meaning “ear.”

This will be a year long project that’s very dear to my heart! My budget is very small right now, but I’m hoping I can create an entire calendar by the end of next year for 2021.
